Yesterday, Invest Buffalo Niagara attended the Innovation Lecture Series hosted by the University at Buffalo (UB) Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences.

President of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus (BNMC) Matt Enstice gave a brief update on the success of the campus. He also took time to look back at just how far the Campus, and Buffalo as a whole, has come. In 2006, the BNMC had 4.5 million square feet. Today, in 2018, that number is over 9 million square feet.

Matt Enstice was featured on a recent episode of Bell Ringer as well.

Following Enstice’s talk were presentations from CleanSlate UV and faculty from UB working with local company eNrG.  Both presentations boasted the effectiveness of collaboration between the university and the companies, most specifically in research. CleanSlate UV advocated that, unlike the reputation that academia puts molasses to a timeline, UB had the opposite effect.  The company was pleasantly surprised by the dedication and speed of work from faculty and staff.

At Invest Buffalo Niagara, we consistently market not only UB’s resources but ease with which companies can partner with the university and leverage them.  This dedication and speed that CleanSlate UV experienced is the norm, and we often utilize the expertise and responsiveness of the school when working with companies considering Buffalo Niagara.

CleanSlate UV is a past 43North winner. Taylor Mann, the company’s president, credited interest in Buffalo to the startup competition, Buffalo’s bi-national access, and previous work with the Jacobs Institute.

The Innovation Lecture Series is held monthly at UB’s Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences and is free to attend.
