WNY Trailblazer: Deepti Tadala, Synacor

Jan 11, 2021 Posted by Greg Pokriki

Western New York is full of innovative people, often blazing a new trail and building a better Buffalo along the way. To celebrate these WNY Trailblazers, Be in Buffalo is participating in a blog series with a coalition including 43NorthAleronForge Buffalo, and TechBuffalo

Deepti Tadala is a Technical Product Manager at Synacor. She is passionate about improving the tech community in Western New York for other women. In the spirit of knowledge sharing, we wanted to catch up with Deepti to learn more about her role with Synacor, her advice for others, and her favorite things about living in Buffalo.

What would you tell other people interested in a career in tech?

I would ask people to not doubt their abilities and skillset, but push forward, and keep learning. With new technologies evolving in the market, it is important to stay agile.

What’s your favorite thing about living in Buffalo?

I love the community, both tech and otherwise. The events and groups like Be in Buffalo, Agile etc, are close-knit, and extremely productive and useful.

What have you learned most in your role at Synacor?

I learned the power of communication and emphatic leadership from my leaders. I have mentors when I need them.

Why did you pursue a career in tech originally?

I got into Technology consulting straight out of college. My ride since then has been one of love. I loved finding solutions to customer problems, with technology as an aid. I realized one can do wonders.

What are you thankful for?

Today, at the moment, I am very thankful to have a healthy family by my side.
