Matthew Hubacher

In mid-September Invest Buffalo Niagara hosted a reporter from Site Selection Magazine for a two-and-a-half day visit throughout the region.

The visit consisted of tours highlighting the many placemaking investments that have helped to create community and improve public spaces, our growing technology and entrepreneurial ecosystem, and advanced manufacturing industry tours, among other items. We discussed workforce development, talent attraction, site readiness, public-private partnerships, and more. Of course, it's not all business either - lunch at Gabriel's Gate for wings followed by a walking tour of Niagara Falls concluded the visit.

We want to thank the many partners that made the visit a success and always help to show the best of Buffalo. And a thank you to Site Selection Magazine and Gary Daughters for spending a few days in our community!

Buffalo is Showing its True Colors
Here’s a comeback story with numbers to back it up.

Much like the city that backs them with boundless zeal, the Buffalo Bills have turned the page on seasons of defeat and retreat. With the surging Bills the talk of their plain-spoken village on the eastern shores of Lake Erie, Buffalo itself sparked some buzz at the recent annual conference of the International Economic Development Council in Oklahoma City.

“It’s refreshing to be at a meeting like that and have everybody know about the positive things going on in our region,” says Tom Kucharski, longtime president and CEO of Invest Buffalo Niagara, a privately funded alliance of eight counties of Western New York.

“It’s a lot better,” Kucharski muses, “than being pelted with the usual jokes about snow, chicken wings and falling-down buildings.”
